About

Winter Tunes Camp offers you the chance to improve your celtic repertoire, technique, accompaniment and musicianship, join in the many jam sessions, and generally forget about the outside world for a few days.

The camp is perfect for both families and individuals of all ages, and don”™t be shy about coming by yourself because you”™ll be in good company from the start.

Winter Tunes Camp features some of Victoria’s most talented and popular Irish and folk musicians: Strat Lyndal, Allan Evans, Ruth Boylan, Pria Schwall-Kearney, Aifric Boylan and Ciaran O”™Grady.

The camp takes place in the small village of Jan Juc, next to Torquay, on Victoria”™s stunning Surf Coast.

This year”™s camp is all about jam sessions. The guest musicians will lead a range of sessions over the weekend, with a mix of slow tunes, fast tunes, Irish tunes, Scottish tunes, Quebecois tunes, sessions for brass, sessions for singers. There will also be dedicated instrument classes each day to polish your skills and work on a particular tune in more detail.

You”™ll break the ice at the start of camp with a bush dance (don”™t panic if you don”™t like dancing ”“ we also need musicians for the band!).
